THE ISLE OF THERA

Thera was designed to hold 100 players - it holds 23 named (Major) locations, 13 unnamed (Minor) locations, and 5 temples.

The named locations are the major points of interest for players, containing the best gear and spells. 5 temples each held a god power that only 1 player could pick up each game. These temples were hotspots for PvP and needed to be spread out evenly across the terrain. Each temple had it's own quadrant and challenges.

Zeus' Temple is the most centered temple and lived at the top of a large mountain, as players went after the Gift of Lightning, the travel time alone created plenty of opportunity for traps and surprises set by other players.

Poseidon's Temple is submerged underwater to the Northeast, players needed to dive and battle underwater to loot Poseidon's Gift. ​

I was responsible for blocking in Greek ideas and themes, such as farmlands, swamp, and Ampitheater.​ I generated the tiled terrain with World Machine, giving us a base terrain sculpt to start from.
