As a Level Designer, I owned the design and implementation of many key areas in the Fire and Darkness DLC, as well as assisted the other Level Designers in all levels game wide.

FIRE REALM

The level design in the Fire Realm is an extension of the design of the first 3 realms taken to the extreme, pushing verticality and interconnectivity to Godfall's limits.​​

Branching Paths: The Fire Realm features multiple routes that encourage exploration. There are main paths that guide the player toward key objectives, but there are also optional routes that connect key areas, lead to hidden chests, lore items, or special encounters.

Verticality and Exploration: Players can traverse levels with limited platforming, discovering hidden treasures, challenges, and secrets tucked away in less obvious paths.

For blocking out levels - the LD team moved quickly by using realm specific rock shapes, architecture, terrain, and materials to help sell the vibe we were after.

INFERNO PLATEAU

The interior of the Inferno Plateau is one of Godfall's most complex and interconnected levels - connecting together 4 different sections at various elevations, with multiple paths in and out of the prison.

This location served as the final area of the first mission, "The Flameblood," and marked the starting point of the second mission, "Zenun's Apprentice."

Featured a large elevator to take you above to the castle's exterior, this elevator when raised revealed secret doors that could be accessed to find hidden loot and lore nodes.

Features a network of "Phase Nodes" that the player can utilize to warp around the level quickly.

BOSS ARENA: MOIRAX

Simultaneous Engagement: All three bosses are faced concurrently, demanding careful management of their overlapping attack patterns.

Environmental Blockers: A few large blockers exist to block line-of-sight and create safe zones.

Inspired by the Shadows of Yharnam boss fight in Bloodborne.
